The Current Issues section of the website will track ongoing issues, activities, and projects that could affect our community.
We will be providing information on the following topics.
- Development Projects [e.g., proposed new housing proposals and construction]
- Environmental Concerns [e.g., County Climate Action plan, Solar in the Ag Res]
- County and State Politics and Policies [e.g., revenue and budgets]
- Transportation [e.g., roads, transit, 495/270]
- Safety in the Community [e.g., scams, thefts, proposals re policing]
- Schools [e.g., KPES, MCPS, the boundary study]
- Thrive 2050 [the county’s general plan for 2021-2050]
There will be a report for each issue which will include:
- Brief description of the issue
- Background
- Summary of current status and latest actions
- Links to other sources of information, including opinion articles
